Underlined titles below take you to the site's home page or click on the screen shot to go to the featured page.
Ashton Court Estate
A promotional web site for Bristol PC Web Design services.
Here showing the popular Ashton Court Estate Mansion page.
Designed for more modern 1024 pixel or wider monitors, the design makes full use of the wide screen for large banner photos at the top of the page. Visitors with older monitors (usually 14/15" monitors with a 800 pixel wide maximum resolution) are not forgotten with narrow screen alternatives. These narrow screen versions have less images and smaller banner photos with more compression, so they are more suitable for visitors without broadband too.
Britain's Historic Sites
A sampler site for Robert Brooks and his excellent 15,000+ photo collection of Britain's Historic Sites.
Photos are taken from over forty years of his travels in Britain!
Here showing the home page with silhouette style artwork and thumbnail sized graphics of his work.
All photos, artwork and text information on the Britain's Historic Sites pages are by and copyright © Robert Brooks.
Bristol jpg
Bristol Photo Gallery Site, page shown is a Grey Squirrel in the grounds of Ashton Court Estate near Bristol.
Fixed width design 1000 pixels wide centred design to display in the middle of the screen area. Starting screen size is 1000 pixels due to the large sized photos used in the gallery. To cater for viewers with both small (or very large) monitors a one click resize option is available on all photo pages. This uses dynamic HTML to resize the images without down loading another image from the web site. Note: image quality suffers if the image is expanded to much. Changing advert near the top right hand side corner. This is common on most pages of the site. In this case 1 of 4 different adverts are randomly selected. Change the master advert and all those pages change their adverts at the same time.
Bower Ashton
Community site for Bower Ashton a district in West Bristol the home of this site.
Screen shot shown is the neighbours page.
Another centered design. Fixed page width of 770 pixels (on non photo pages) so suitable for 800 pixel wide screens and above. The events panel on the right hand side of the displayed page is shown on most of the text pages, the panel is generated from a database of events and only displays events later than the current date, so its never dated.
